“I decided to move out of my country and transferred to NEIU to allow for a better scientific career future. My sister came here before me, and she told me Northeastern was a small school that would help me achieve my goals. I was seeking a school in Chicago that could accommodate my needs, such as low tuition and an available payment plan, and NEIU was the best choice for me.

Northeastern was my second home. A place where I learned, but also worked. Being far from my family for almost four years was hard, but the faculty and my advisors had my back at all times. The faculty cares for each of their students. With smaller classrooms, each student is mentored properly and is not just a number. My research advisor, Dr. Cindy Voisine, has also greatly supported me.

While facing many problems and obstacles, I never felt alone. I have grown personally and academically through scholarships, attending and presenting at scientific conferences and summer research opportunities. This school has successfully prepared me for the next steps in
my career.â€
