After an extensive national search, ��ݮ��Ƶ has named Kimberley Buster-Williams as its new Vice President for Enrollment Management. She will start on Jan. 3.
 

In September 1980, less than two years after Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Iraq invaded Iran and began a war that lasted for nearly a decade. The war hasn’t received much academic attention, and the role of women in the war hasn’t been discussed until now.

Angelina Pedroso, for whom ��ݮ��Ƶ named its multicultural center after her 44-year career as a respected Spanish language and Hispanic literature educator, died on Oct. 7 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 90 years old.

As part of ��ݮ��Ƶ’s celebration of Black Heritage Month, the Genocide and Human Rights in Africa and the Diaspora (GHRAD) Center will host its 7th annual conference featuring international speakers and experts in the field. Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced on March 19 that starting in August 2021, all Illinois public universities will become part of the Common Application (Common App). Additionally, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded a grant to the Prison + Neighborhood Arts/Education Project, and President Gibson issued a statement about the shootings in Atlanta, Georgia.
