À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ honors Ana Castillo with Distinguished Alumnus Award

À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ honored celebrated poet, essayist, activist, novelist and scholar Ana Castillo with the Distinguished Alumnus Award during the annual Golden Gala and Alumni Awards. This year’s ceremony, emceed by 2011 Distinguished Alumnus Award winner and retired WGN anchor Robert Jordan, took place Oct. 17.

Noteworthy at Northeastern: Student research results

The Student Center for Science Engagement (SCSE) had to change the way it usually facilitates research because of the pandemic. Yet, even while research was done remotely, the SCSE was able to conduct 18 projects from eight departments and will host a virtual symposium later this month to showcase the results.

À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ increased its graduate student enrollment by more than 10 percent and recorded the best fall-to-fall retention of first-time, full-time freshmen in a decade, according to the official Fall 2020 enrollment numbers.

U.S. Department of Education awards $3 million grant to À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ a five-year, $3 million Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program grant that will help the University increase the number of students who complete STEM majors.
