Adventure Program

Challenge Course

The Challenge Course at NEIU is an experiential education program designed to promote teamwork., leadership, and personal development through a series of physical, mental, and emotional challenges. Our Challenge by Choice philosophy encourages participants to step outside of their comfort zone and experience new things while providing a safe environment for them to do so. While we do encourage everyone to move outside of their personal comfort zones, no participant will be forced to participate in an activity they are not comfortable with.

High Ropes Course

As the centerpiece and main attraction of the Adventure Recreation program, it is no wonder why the high ropes course creates so much excitement and energy at the Physical Education Complex. The high ropes course introduces high-flying, rope-swinging adventures as participants suit up in harnesses and take on elements such as our climbing walls, tarzan swing, wobble rope bridges, giant’s ladder, cargo nets, and balance beam bridges!

Bring your team, class, or organization to engage in exciting experiential learning opportunities on our high ropes course. We help groups focus on themes such as leadership skills, team building, and communication through positive and effective group processes. By removing people from their usual environment and placing them in a new, unique setting, a challenge course experience fosters shared learning, openness, and cooperation.
