Northeastern establishes Social Justice Leadership Housing Award for incoming freshmen, transfer students

ݮƵ has launched the Social Justice Leadership Housing Award, President Gloria J. Gibson announced on June 24. The award is a new leadership program for students who positively impact their university, career and communities. Students participating in the program will be given one year's free housing in The Nest, Northeastern’s on-campus apartments, while taking a first-year seminar during their first semester and while participating in a series of leadership workshops during their second semester.

ݮƵ removes standardized test score requirement from Fall 2020 enrollment application

ݮƵ will remove the requirement for a standardized test score from its Fall 2020 application for enrollment. Effective immediately, Northeastern’s Fall 2020 admissions decisions will be made strictly using grade-point average and curriculum.

ݮƵ is hosting three Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois (DFI) fellows during the 2020-21 academic year. This State of Illinois program is designed to increase the number of minority, full-time, tenure-track faculty and staff who work in the state’s public and private colleges and universities.

Department of Counselor Education awarded $975,175 rehabilitation training grant

ݮƵ has earned a five-year U.S. Rehabilitation Services Administration Long-Term Training Grant totaling $975,175 that will support students in the Department of Counselor Education’s Rehabilitation Counseling graduate program. This is the fourth time Northeastern has received this grant.
