Eight students earn Illinois LSAMP awards
Nine À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ students presented their research at the Illinois Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (Illinois LSAMP) virtual spring symposium on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Eight students won awards for their poster presentations.

Celebrating Womxn's HERstory Month
The Angelina Pedroso Center for Diversity and Intercultural Affairs has a series of events scheduled this month in celebration of Womxn’s HERstory Month. In an effort to make applying to college easier, À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ and all 12 of the state’s public universities will become part of the Common Application (Common App) for college applications starting August 2021.

Based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Illinois Board of Higher Education, À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ President Gloria J. Gibson issued a statement on Aug. 9 announcing that all Northeastern employees and students who will be on campus in the fall are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the 2021-2022 academic year or undergo weekly testing. The deadline for students-at-large and undergraduate applications has been extended to Aug. 20 and NEIU For You is still taking applicants.
