Adam M. Messinger publishes book on transgender intimate partner violence
ݮƵ Associate Professor of Justice Studies and Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies Adam M. Messinger has published his second book, “Transgender Intimate Partner Violence: A Comprehensive Introduction.” The book is published by New York University Press.

Noteworthy at Northeastern: Reasons to give thanks
Though our Thanksgiving holiday may look and feel a little different, ݮƵ has much to be thankful for this year.

ݮƵ awarded $275,000 grant from USDA-NIFA
The U.S. Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA) has awarded ݮƵ a $275,000 grant to support its agriculture science engagement at Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI). Northeastern is one of 26 institutions in the United States—and the only institution in Illinois—to receive this grant. It is Northeastern’s fourth USDA-NIFA grant and its fifth USDA grant overall.

Noteworthy at Northeastern: Grant awards
Northeastern has received a grant to digitize the archives of alumnus and former Illinois Congressman Luis Gutiérrez. The University also received a grant for students from the Consulate General of Mexico.

Consulate General of Mexico awards grant to ݮƵ
The Consulate General of Mexico has awarded a $9,000 IME Becas grant to ݮƵ. This is the fifth year Northeastern has received the grant.

ݮƵ wins grant to digitize Gutiérrez Congressional Archives
The Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board Historical Records Grant Program has awarded ݮƵ a $5,000 grant to digitize the archives of former Illinois Congressman and Northeastern alumnus Luis Gutiérrez. The award is the highest amount a project can receive.

Stage Center Theatre has launched a virtual theatre festival for social justice featuring works submitted by the NEIU community. Submissions are still being accepted for the festival as well as the Undocumented Cookbook and COVID-19 student archives.

Noteworthy at Northeastern: GEERing up
ݮƵ has been awarded a grant from the Governor's Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund to aid recruitment and retention efforts.
