Noteworthy at Northeastern: A new way to see yourself at NEIU

ݮƵ is excited to share a new 360 virtual tour, which allows prospective students to visit our campus from the comfort of their homes. As NEIU prepares to welcome students and employees back to campus on Monday, Jan. 31, all are advised to review the Return to Campus website for the latest information regarding COVID-19 protocols. Professor Emeritus, former Carruthers Center Director Conrad Worrill dies at 78

Conrad W. Worrill, who taught at ݮƵ for more than 40 years and whose activism has been at the forefront of social and racial justice, African-centered education, African liberation and self-determination for people of African descent, died on June 3 after battling several major illnesses.

Noteworthy at Northeastern: A step in the right direction

The conviction of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd made headlines across the country. Here at Northeastern, President Gloria J. Gibson issued a statement regarding the verdict and called on everyone to work together “to ensure our government enacts the changes and reforms needed to end violence against people of color.” In other news, the 2021 NEIU Libraries Awards for Excellence in Research have been announced, Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month and Stress-Free Zone activities wrap up next week, and a number of virtual events, including virtual study sessions, are scheduled.
