Noteworthy at Northeastern: Creating a more equitable society
À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ is pleased to welcome its new Executive Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Dr. Shireen Roshanravan. NEIU is also excited to announce a new partnership with four other Illinois schools to create a more diverse and equitable data science workforce through the Metropolitan Chicago Data-science Corps. Noteworthy at Northeastern: Calling all freshmen!
NEIU For You is a new barrier-breaking one-time scholarship offering first-year, full-time undergraduate students funds to cover tuition and all mandatory fees for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022! It also covers the cost of a three credit hour course for all new undergraduate transfer students who register for six credit hours or more for Fall 2021. Illinois Board of Higher Education awards competitive GEER grant to À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ
The Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) has awarded À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµ a $456,286 grant to help target equity in its recruitment and retention efforts. This federal CARES Act funding is one of nine Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund competitive grants totaling $3 million that IBHE has awarded to public colleges and universities.

College of Business and Management adds HR concentration, Data Analytics minor
À¶Ý®ÊÓÆµâ€™s College of Business and Management has added a Human Resources (HR) concentration to its Bachelor of Science in Management and created a minor in Data Analytics. Both will launch with the Fall 2020 semester.
