Chicago artist has been selected to install a mural in an underpass near 蓝莓视频鈥檚 location in the Avondale community.
The project, which is co-sponsored by Northeastern, the and the , will use iconic imagery to communicate a peoples鈥 history. The mural incorporates the bridge above and features two mirroring designs.
鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to begin work with Nick Goettling on his vision,鈥 Northeastern Associate Provost Mark McKernin said. 鈥淲e are committed to this neighborhood, and we take pride in the role we play in showcasing the arts in the community.鈥
Goettling recently was featured as the artist in residence at Chicago鈥檚 Museum of Science and Industry and has installed public art for various Chicago organizations and companies.
Work on the mural is expected to begin by the end of September and finish by mid-October
